This exhibit, presented by the New Mexico Arts Imaginative Collective (NMAIC), explored the intersection of nature and art. Five participating artists shared a common respect for and sense of wonder inspired by the mystique of the Southwest. Their work included nature-inspired paintings and multimedia projects. The Collective aimed to strike a balance between the needs of living within our environment and the necessity of preserving nature in its delicate state. They hoped to raise greater awareness of the irreplaceable gifts provided by our land, water, air, flora, and fauna.
In addition to the visual art exhibit, the NMAIC brought together a group of performing artists who presented a series of educational and interactive community events. These events accompanied the art exhibit during its three-month run from April 15 to July 8, 2023. New visual and performance art was specifically created for this project.
